Why Was Eko Killed Off?

Eko In the last episode of Lost, “The Cost of Living”, Mr. Eko played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was killed by the mysterious smoke monster. There are conflicting reports all over the internet about why he was chosen to be killed.

Yesterday TV Squad posted a round-up article of the various rumors surrounding Eko’s departure.

USA Today’s website claims that Adewale asked to written off the show after losing both of his parents the previous year and wanting to return home to direct a movie.

TV Guide’s Aussiello reports that Adewale was never intended to be a long term character much like Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia).

TV Squad also reports that in the next issue of TV Guide it is mentioned that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje had become hard to work with and refused to film scenes as scripted.

Penny-Arcade Takes a Swing at ‘Lost’

Penny-Arcade Lost Penny-Arcade, a video game comic strip, posted a ‘Lost’ comic today claiming that the show has fallen of its horse. Im not sure I am ready to go as far as saying ‘Lost’ is lost but this season so far just doesn’t seem right to me. What does everyone else think of the state of “Lost”?

Here is what the writers said about their latest comic.

I’m acting as Gabe’s proxy in this strip - essentially, he’s “broken up” with Lost. It’s complicated by the fact that he holds weekly “Lost Nights,” where Lost-themed snacks are sometimes offered, but he’s come to conclusion that there’s no story actually being told. He no longer believes that events are happening according to some overarching plan. Watching the show now is apparently awful, because where he once perceived a carefully revealed structure he now just sees a couple guys out back beneath a tarp, flashlights held under the chin.
