Boom, Lost is back and things are a lot more complicated than I thought (which is a very very good thing). I gotta say after last seasons shocking finale I really thought the real world might not be as interesting as the island. I mean who wants to see our favorite Losties in a worse off place than they were on the island we have come to know and love.
As usual the first 5 minutes knocked my socks off, I expected the season to start off in a flash-forward, but I didn’t expect things to be so… I dont know crazy… clearly this was a sign its been way to long since I had sat down to watch a new episode. The post island story looks to be just as mysterious and compelling as the on-island.
After Hurleys little episode in the store/car/police station we now know six people from the island get rescued and are dubbed the “Oceanic Six”. Kate, Jack and Hurley are confirmed to be a part of the six. Who else gets rescued? I think Sun and maybe Claire will be two of them but I wouldn’t be surprised if not.
Questions:
1. Who is the attorney for Oceanic Airlines? Is this someone trying to bribe Hurley for the secret to the island. Maybe the six promise never to mention the island or the events on the island in exchange for rescue. The scene with the attorney at the mental institute reminded me of when Ben first met Richard in the forest.
2. Is Hurley going crazy and why does he think “it” is trying to bring them back. Who or what is “it”. Hurley refers to it when Jack stops by the mental institute to make sure Hurley wont say anything. Wait.. what? Why is Jack keeping something quiet and why does Hurley have to do the same.
3. What is going on with Jacobs cabin, was Hurley imagining it or does Locke’s arrival shortly after seeing the cabin make you wonder what Locke is upto. When Hurley peeks into the cabin you can see a shadowy figure rocking in a chair (Jacob) and someone else (Locke) in there with him.
4. With Hurleys imaginary friend Dave gone will Charlie become his new pal. I hope so!
Complaint Department: Why couldnt they have just shown the entire fourth season last night.. I want more!
