Another clue has been released for the Lost alternate reality game this afternoon. If you check the the executive bios section on the Hanso Foundation website you will notice that Hugh McIntyre’s picture has been replaced with a question mark and the date on the Electromagnetic Research Initiative has changed to October 62, 9291. Take note of the x and y coordinates in the picture of aurora borealis and move your cursor to x: 629 and y: 291 and click the hidden link.
The screen will change and a compass will overlay on a diagram. Click the compass and you will be taken to a new site called LetYourCompassGuideYou.com.
On the new site you will see a large compass with the Hanso Foundation logo in it and the woman from the Hanso introduction in the reflection. Move the compass around until you find the hidden links.
In the south-east position you will find a hidden link that will take you to a prompt asking you “are you one of the good ones”. Type “y”, hit enter and you will be taken to the /usr/ directory.

A few people have emailed me that the password for the Hugh McIntyre bio is “the mouthpiece“.
Also discovered was a Jeep commercial with what appears to be the Dharma Initiative “arrow” logo at the end of it.

How do i enter the password in the Hugh bio page? i found it through the /usr/ directory as well, but can’t manage to make it do anything on the bio page.

Once you get on the “letyourcompassguideyou” site, click on ahanso and it will take you to the bios once there you can type in the password “the mouthpiece” and it should work. Once in click on the yellow where it say something about family values. After the little clip, click on the picture and then click on the falling pieces of paper.
Note that if you differenciate the alphabeticals in,
“The Mouthpiece” you will come up with one more item noted for
The Hanso Foundation. Perhaps _____________ Isl________ is not on a map because it only exists in an area closed off from the world,

For some reason I still havent been able to get the Hugh bio to load. My login info is correct but flash gets errors when trying to load the new files. I guess I will have to try and clean my cache and try again in the morning.

K, so then, I went back to www.thehansofoundation.org site. On the executive bios section, Hugh McIntyre’s pic is gone… but you’ll see a box in there. Type “the mouthpiece” and you’ll see something new. When you click on the clip of the woman, theres gonna be pieces of paper coming down, try to click on one while they are at the top of the page and it will zoom in on it… can anyone make out anything else?
Did anyone else notice the 2 different Peter Thompson signatures. Hugh had a picture in all of his files, and then when you look at Peter’s files, it is a different signature entirely.
The passwords come from different places. The latest “The
Mouthpiece” came from a newspaper jeep advertisement in Hugh
McIntyr’s mail on the site that letyourcompassguideyou.com leads
to. The others come from equally obscure and unique places, but
all are provided by Persephone. Often the passwords don’t seem
to work. Keep visiting the Hanso Foundation website and trying
them, and the evetually will.
Has anyone been able to make anything of the Mental Health Appeal
section of the Active Projects yet? It seems to use a password
as well, but I haven’t figured it out.
If you visit the “Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development
Program” in Active Projects on the Hanso page, use the
“World Map” link in the box on the upper right section, then you
can find a hidden link in the Carribean section on the map. It
doesn’t lead to much but hidden under the blank picture in points
to is some coded text. I don’t know what it is used for, but it
includes two number sequences: 13/9/19/19/9/14/7 and
15/18/7/1/14/19.
The number sequence was discussed on another board. Assign numeriacal values for the letters of the alphabet and it spells “Missing Organs”.
Though these sites are fun and interesting, nothing is really helping out with the storyline of what is happening on the island. I think these sites do lead us to believe that The Hanso Foundation is unethical and has questionable practices. All the more fuel to believe that what is happening on the island and with the Dharma initiative is very questionable.

Just thought I’d add guys - not sure if it has any relevance though, that the graph you click on to get to the compass site is a graph showing magnetic susceptibility. It essentially tells you how easy it is to make something magnetic - I think it refers only to ferromagnetism, but that’s stretching what i can remember from physical chemistry!

also in one of the emails on the compass site for pthomas there is a binary line of code and when you plug it into a binary translator it comes out to be “the mouth piece”. It’s 3 words completely I think, it’s also in a blow up of the picture for the jeep ad in mcintyre’s folders near some funky statue.

I wonder if the compass has any more meaning than just unlocking the next few clues. Anyone remember the compass that Locke gave Jack in the first season? Think there’s any significance or connection?
BTW, what is Persephone trying to establish? So far, s/he’s attacked the credibility of three of the four executives: Hanso, Mittelwerk, and Mcintyre. She’s also indirectly implicated Peter Thomson in the ‘Breaking Strain’ incident. Therefore, s/he has dealt with all of the executives. What’s next? It seems that the only things left are the Mental Health appeal and the Board of Directors page.
Of course, with Persephone and the Hanso Foundation, can you really be sure of anything?

To enter the password on Hugh’s Bio you must type it in in three words. Copy and paste if you wish. ‘the mouth piece’ all lowercase.
By the way, if you want to get the compass opened, just point it toward east and mess around with it for a little while. You’ll get it open.

Go to Dr thomas Mittelwork any type in “Heir Apparent” It will take you to a new screen. Have fun! This took a while to find the other way. Also go the to Electromagnetic Experiments page and mak the coordinates match up to the weird date that is displayed. IT says something like October 62, 9291. Make the X=629 and the Y=291. It is the AXIS of the plane. Later!

it is possible that the magnetism has something to do with the electromagnetic research initiative. i was an art major, so i cannot help with the physics.
In re: the graph leading to the compass site. Not sure about the magnetism idea, but the shape of the graph/chart resembles the exposure of the earth to the sun’s energy. Look at a satellite image and you will see the same thing (depending on the time of year you might see the inverse) Perhaps the axis, then refers to a position/location, which might be possible to find given the time of the aurora borealis.
After clicking on the 108 on the compass, an IP Address is shown and an SSH server is identified.
You can connect via SSH (Secure Shell - if you don’t know what it is, just download Putty on Windows) but I’m not sure what to use for the username or password.

How to find it: At some point the time in the time and date part of the Hanso Foundation Site toolbar will flicker and become “OB:EY”. Click on it and you are sent to the site www.subLYMONal.com. Complete the puzzle (click on the dim screens rapidly to light them to bright yellow-green; when all 6 are complete, puzzle shrinks away to a TV with alternating words “code:” and “Heir Apparent”). Good hunting.

I went to the Diamler chrysler Fleet Website (http://fleet.chrysler.com) and downloaded the 2007 buyers guide pdf for the upcoming year models. I immediately checked out the compass and there are some symbols on the rear bumper. (page 196) Can anyone make any sense of it?
If you look at the back of the patriot the bumber says PATRIOT. So one could assume that the bumber on the compass says COMPASS, which I think is what it says.

The graph on the website does look like the graph of solar heating, but I looked at an old textbook and the letters on it definitely relate to the magnetism. Not sure how this could relate to the ERI - possibly how they found the site with interesting magnetic properties on the island was by assessing the magnetic susceptibility of the areas, and maybe everyone is right about the button in that it may suppress this effect. Or it could just be that when they were making the Hanso website they found this graph relating to magnetism - it’s quite a common graph in textbooks about the subject, and I’m reading too much into it!
Ah. I think I found out why you can’t enter the passwords. I believe you have to log in with persephone. (Go to the Newsletter page and enter a ‘username’ in the blank space. It doesn’t matter what it is. After that, when Persephone asks for a password, enter ‘breaking strain’. That will log you in. Tell me if this fixes the problem!

Before you can put any passwords in you have to meet persephone. Just go to sign up for the newsletter and put anything in, your name works best. The screen will crackle and persephone will ask you what the password is, its “breaking strain”. Then you will be able to put some of the other passwords in.
The new Hugh McIntire password was a little tricky. You go to the Active Project; Electromagnetic research; click on the center of the x and y axis, it will warp and you click on it again. That takes you to a compass, where the link is on the lower right corner of the compass. It asks if you are one of the good ones; type “y” and enter. It takes you to a file directory; click on ahanso/, whick takes you back to the Hanso foundation website. Go to Hugh McIntyre and put in “the mouthpiece”. Have fun. All the passwords work, you just may have to jump through some hoops to get it to work.

Was reading May 19th issue of Entertainment Weekly - there’s an article about “Lost” (of course, why else would I be reading it?)
Here’s a pretty interesting paragraph from the article…

Looks like we all may be searching for the superficial mysteries when it’s just a simple story of personal soul seeking journies. I think the creators of the show are having a good time watching all the activity surrounding the “Lost Experience” and the on-line participation. I don’t think we’re going to get the answers we think we want anytime soon. I still think that these people are stuck within that split second between life and death where they must right their primary wrong in order to continue their spiritual journey.

I go to the electromagnetic page, click on the link in the graph, then from the compass page I go to the 108 degrees, which brings me to the index/user page. From there I click on ahanso, which takes me back to the bio page. but nothing happens… I click on peter’s bio… I do not see any letters flickering or scrolling… I cannot find the password box under his picture…. grrrrrrr what am I doing wrong????
Hmm … I don’t know. What I do know is, if I go directly to the Foundation site, I do not get the letters scrolling on Peter’s (say it like ya know him! Heh) picture. I only get them from clicking on “ahanso” from the Compass page, and then clicking on his bio.

Having said that, however, when I put the words into the box, nothing happens when I hit return. Of course, the same thing happened when entering Heir Apparent on Mittelwerk’s page for me. So, I expect it will work eventually.

But, I suspect that the key will be finding out why the letters aren’t appearing on his picture. This is likely the key to your issue. Though, unfortunately, I don’t have any suggestions that might help.

Ok, first of all, each of you have ignored my first clues so here is my second. jt’s translation of Permissium Vestri Complector Rector Vos was incorrect, in latin word order it means this:
Permissium means Permiss whch can be translated as “Let”
Vestri means “Your”
Complector means “Compass”
Rector means “Guide”
Vos means “You”
“Let Your Compass Guide You”
Also, The password derived from “ECHO ME UTEP HIT” might not be “the mouth piece” or “the mouthpiece”, Have any of you considered “Euphotic Theme”, another anagram of “ECHO ME UTEP HIT”? Atleast consider it. You have no idea the knowledge I am keeping secret.

#1 - Hopefully you’ve all gone to the hanso page, and in the Newsletter, enterred the password “breaking strain” to talk to Persephone
#2 - Immediately after speaking to Persephone, proceed to Joops Corner, and talk to joop, you’ll get a strange screen where you have to connect the dots to get a red dot, where you can read a few Hanso Documents for the GWC
#3 - In Executive Bios, you can do the Following:
A) Click on “October 28, 2003″ Below Alvar Hanso’s Bio Pic and then follow the clicks to get a weird breakdown of Hanso’s travelling through Europe through the early 2000’s
B) At Hugh McIntyre’s bio page, Enter the pass word as “the mouthpiece” no space between mouth and piece, and then click the yellow
C) At Dr. Thomas Mittlewerk’s page, enter “heir apparent” as the password, which incidentally is the password you receive once you’ve gone in the grand circle, and by that I mean the 6 tv screens which you have to click the number of times for the code on Lost, 4 8 15 16 23 42, and also by grand circle as the various websites, the compass, the hanso foundation, sublymonal are all a mass subliminal advertising for Daimler Chrysler with all the Jeep Cj blah blah, and the weird Dharma symbol appearing at the end, and Sprite, with the “obey” and subLYMONal, anyways enuf rant, back to the secrets…
D) This one was tough, but if you look at Peter Thompson’s photo you see letters flashing quickly, these spell out “survivor guilt” which is the password for the invisible password box directly below his photo, directly below his right elbow if you click there, enter the pass word and look into Peter Thompson’s shady past…
At Letyourcompassguideyou.com move your mouse to the right of the compass image and just south of 90 degress and a map image will arise, click, and a DOS-like screen will open, and “Peresphone” spelled backwards will be there, answer “Y” to the question “Are you one of the good ones” and get into the USR directory
When you see the clock go to “obey” click the word and a new screen will appear, this will have 6 rotating static screens, which you must click the number of times of the Lost code… 1st screen 4 times, second screen 8 times, then 15, 16, 23, and an exhausting 42 times to get to the sub”LYMON”ol message of “Heir Apparent” the password in Dr. Thomas Mittlewerk’s Bio page at thehansofoundation.org

On what appears to be the database to the “followyourcompass.org” website, I found several folders with several very interesting documents and photographs, along with a Binary code which I decoded to find another message.
II. The Mouth Piece Message
Under the “/usr/pthompso/mail” index I found a fleet contract that The Hanso Foundation has just recently “signed” with the DamierChrysler Organization, along with an email under “/?inbox” with a X-IMAP code in a Binary Code that reads “01010100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01001101 01101111 01110101 01110100 01101000 00100000 01010000 01101001 01100101 01100011 01100101”
Underneath this there is a URL link to a Google search on “Binary Translators” at the URL: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2006-09,GGLG:en&q=binary+translators
I entered this link into my browser, and clicked the first search result that Google returned and entered the Binary code into the translator which quickly gave me this in return: “The Mouth Piece” The significance? I have yet to find out…
III. DamierChrysler Contract with The Hanso Foundation
There is one MEMO, however, where the Chrysler Corporation wished to “rescind” the deal with the Hanso Foundation due to “recent incidents” in which they claim “no further correspondence is necessary at this time…”
IV. Cancellation of Contract - Unexplained
In the directory section of the site: “usr/hmcintyr” is an old ad for the Jeep Wrangler and other Jeep pictures, write-ups and a video link to a YouTube video….the video ends with static and the Dharma Initiative
All other name folder’s at this time do not work.

If you go the widemorelaboratories.com site there is a link at the bottom of the page that takes you to a site called squidoo that is authored by Peter Thompson.
Here’s a clue from another site:
The password for the Board of Directors login is “Inmate Asylum”, you don’t need a Login, just the password and it will show you information about Lawrence Peck and Jacob Vanderfield. It’s obtained by highlighting the test of each of the five job advertisements on the Careers page (hansocareers.com) — and of course unscrambling the letters.
The SteSebastianHospital.org site is somehow connected…
here’s why:
1/ St Sebastians was the hospital Jack and his Father worked at.
2/ The website was closed the date and time of the launch of Flight 815
3/ The Header jpg image is named 139191991471518711419 (Missing Organs)
4/ This one takes forever, but in the upper right hand corner, the “e” in “sebastian” slowly morphs tp spell “i n m a t e a s y l u m”
and 5/ the site is registered to Disney….
Now can some1 tell me where to use “Missing Organs” as a password?

On the Hanso Foundation site were we always able to get into the MFI forecast map? Does anyone know what we need to type in the blanks provided on the Sudan and Italy popups?
I also see that there’s a blank on the US economy popup on the MFI forecast map. I hope we don’t have to do math to figure this one out, I know I’ll never get it then.

hey i have a theory @ the http://stsebastianhospital.org/%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25%25/ website when I decoded the system failure binary code. i saw at the right top corner of the page the letters HANOS FNUDED and then when u scrambled the letters it says HANSO FOUNDED. this is a stretch but if u use the A, twice u can get A (alvar) H (hanso) FOUND DEAD. but that leaves a missing S..im going to put the phrase in binary and see if that was when it was founded or somthing. i dont know yet anyone else got an idea

hey i found somthing, when u go to the executive bio section, click on the board of directors, under the pictures of the executive bios, and click on jacob vanderfield’s picture. it takes a coulpe seconds but wait untill u can type in the password section, and type “inmate asylum” then click submit. then jacob V. and lawrence P. pictures will go fuzzy and stuff . then click on the login/ password section and persephone tell you about jacob and lawrence’s not so good past

Hey, did anyone else notice this? After talking to Joop and getting to the secret letter about the outbreak, if you click on Peter Thompson’s name, it will magnify and if you wait a few seconds, the name will be circled in red. If you click that a woman’s voice says “The Hanso Foundation setting speed records at subverting authority.” it then takes you back to joops page and there is a quote there from Peter Thompson praising the work of the Hanso Foundation and he is with a different organization than what appears on the letter. What does this mean?????

the phrase DI 9FFTR75i was already discussed it turned out to be a registration number for one of the jeeps that have been shown throughout the whole puzzle.
I think DI 9FFTR75i is too short to be a VIN.

What’s that all about? I’m not very good with anagrams but it looks like a hidden message somewhere in those letters- either the capitalized ones or the lower case ones- i’m not sure. Or maybe it’s the letters that have been replaced by symbols… But notice the very END of the supposed ‘unreadable’ text? ‘thf’? The Hanso Foundation? Maybe i’ve had too much coffee…Another thing: 10 iS THe MagIc ##########…this could refer to an extension you might enter when you call the toll-free Hanso line.

P.S im terrible with describing things but idid my best.

ok i’ll be serious for a sec… when i went to the ROT website and entered in the code “porter” into the newsletter thing (and when that code still worked) it took me to that old site with the whole hanso is evil verizon people site. somewhere in all of the blogs there was a link to another D.J. Dan thing and he interviewed a couple of people and stuff but one of the people he interviewed was a scientist who spoke of nanobyte robots and stuff he also said that when billions of them got together it would look like a storm cloud or something im thinking that this is that mysterious mist thing that is on the island the scientist dude also stated that they can eb controlled by electromagnetics i believe that the mysterious mist thing on the island is a group of nanobytes who went crazy so they had to evacuate the island and just as a failsafe they have the big magnet to kill them all but now since the crazy hatch dude initiated the fail-safe im not sure. sigh my hands are really tired now so im gonna stop if you have any theorys or anything please post them.
