OB:EY the Hanso Foundation

Published on May 11, 2006 in Hanso-Foundation, ARG, SubLYMONal

obey the Hanso Foundation Trevor has sent in a tip about the website. He explains that when the clock changed to 13:33, “OB:EY” started to flash on the screen. If clicked, it would take you to the site.

This is really wierd while i was waiting to go to joops part . the time started flashing OB:EY it turns out it was a link. it took me to the subLYMONal site again. it happened when the time went to 13:33

Can anyone else confirm this? Thanks to everyone who confirmed this. It looks like the message will show up at random so you wont have to wait until a certain time.

Great, I will have to make sure to check this tomorrow. Keep sending in the tips everyone!

So what is the relationship to Sprite? Supposedly Sprite is doing a sublymonal campaign and they sponsored the commercials.

#Colin 05.11.06

Thanks Kim, I have tried searching for more information regarding Sprites new viral campaign but haven’t turned up any results. Where did you read this?

#Anonymous 05.11.06

Yes it does happen

#NeCtUr 05.11.06

it has nothing to do with sprite. I just had the obey flash up around 17:45 (i didn’t note the exact time) i clicked on it and it opened up www.sublymonal.com where if you click on the monitors enough (only one of them is clickable, upper left) each monitor will progressively turn yellow and the monitors will rotate. When they all turn yellow it displays a signal monitor that flashes between a wave and screens that say “code:” and “Heir Apparent” haven’t figured out what this means as of yet. there is also a link near the bottom of the page that takes you to the locked bios page so i assume it somehow goes into that login prompt.

It happened to me this morning around 7:20 or so. I didnt check the real time, but apparently it happens at different times during the day.

Clicking the monitors in the using the code from Lost unlocks the message. Use the pattern 4,8,15,16,23,42 clicking each monitor in order starting at the 12o’clock position. They will rotate into place untill you have entered the series of numbers.

Isn’t it obvious what the connection to Sprite is? Obey… your thirst… They’ve been using that slogan for years. You know, with the little doll with the afro (his name is “Thirst”) and he says “Show ‘em my motto!” If you ask me, it’s a blatant advertisement for Sprite. Including the yellow/green monitors reflecting the lemon and lime of their soda. Cheap tactics! :P

I found a post on the Sprite connection.

#MysticSnake 05.11.06

this is true, i found it all on a flook, i saw the commercial (tht blended with the other commercials for the hanso found.) i searched it up, there are a few odd feats about theyre site.
-go to news letter try and sign up
- 2 go to joop’s live cam watch for atleast 3mins a weird figure appears
- of course the clock
- ne time you try to contact it “timesout”

odd…..

#Little Mike 05.11.06

Snake, I think you have to go through the breakingstrain part before it will send a message to Joop. Read the post over at http://lost.beloblog.com/archives/2006/05/the_game_so_far.html to go through the “game” so far.

I went to Joops section and typed “obey” and hit enter. The screen went a little crazy and changed to a report on a primate viral infection. I then cliked on the name at the bottom of the report and postephone wrote out a strange message.

#barrettrouton 05.12.06

its 42 after the hour for me maybe its just random

#Colin 05.12.06

Thank you everyone for confirming this, I have updated the post.

OB:EY is a tie into Sprite’s advertising campaign. I think that Sprite is paying money to piggyback onto the curiousity fever that LOST has put into it’s fans. Lebron is called THE CHOSEN ONE, and the HEIR APPARENT, among other things. SPRITE’s slogan is OBEY YOUR THIRST.
There are Sprite logos on the commercials, too.

#lolz 05.13.06

Ok the whole OB:EY thing is when the clock has one of the BAD numbers in it 4 8 15 16 23 42

I don’t know how 13:13 worked maybe it was in the date…
but yeah I just looked it up!
And i went on and it was on 8 and then on 15 so it ties in with the time!

#Colin 05.13.06

Yeah I can confirm that number thing, it happened at 6:42 for me.

#lolz 05.13.06

yeah it’s all wit the #’s!!!!!

#lolz 05.13.06

hey 4 the board of directors
is the login and password stuff REAL? or fake code thing you can find?
i’m confuzed!!!!!!

#Gary 05.17.06

Yeah, I saw it too, but it’s not when the clock reaches 13:33, it’s when it reaches 42 minutes past the hour

#Sklnxbones 05.18.06

ok check this out…. THE OBEY site… Once there mouse over the TV sets. One of them will turn your arrow to a web pointer (hand).
Start clicking on the first set…how many times do you need to click? you guessed it 4-8-15-16-23-42
Then all the sets will turn green. the screen will clear and a new TV set will apear… and it gives you a CODE WORD…

I google’ed “The Hanso Foundation Persephone” and got to a website, http://persephone.thehansofoundation.org/ Which has a bunch of numbers. I didn’t know what they mean or to do with them. Eventaully I learned. Copy those numbers down and then tell them to Joop at his webcam. You will see a quick movie of Joop screaming (turn speakers down!) and then takes you to a new web site. With some “connect the dots” thing. When you connect all the dots, a red one appears and takes you to a “micro fiche” of a CDC Violation of Ethical Guidelines letter.

#9Nails 05.18.06

Interesting reading. And there seems to be some clickable hot-spots in the Micro-fiche web site that links to other documents. I’m now reading one titled “The Hanso Life-Extension Project”, which is an appology to the first letter.

#Taina 05.18.06

I did the numbers at Joops webcam n hit send and nothing happened./ What did I do wrong?
