During tonight’s episode entitled “?” Eko and Locke find the location of the question mark and discover a new hatch called “The Pearl.”
Inside there is several television screens and records of all the “Swan” computers entries. Eko finds another orientation film, this time it is in VHS format and copyrighted in 1980. We get to see Dr. Marvin Candle or Dr. Mark Whitman Wickman as he calls himself in this tape, explain the purpose of the new hatch. Dr. Mark Whitman explains that the purpose of the facility is to monitor the behavior of the scientists in the Swan Station. Occupants of “The Pearl” must stay there for 3 months weeks and take notes.
There is also a scene in the film with the DeGroots at a Dharma exercise facility.
After watching the video Locke is frustrated that he has wasted his time pushing the buttons. Eko has gladly volunteers to push the button if Locke doesn’t want to anymore.
