2.17 - Lockedown

Published on March 30, 2006 in Season-2, Recap, Locke, ABC, Images

This weeks episode, entitled “Lockedown”, was absolutely amazing, probably one of the most exciting episodes from this season. We finally learn a bit more about Locke’s past and what happened in his relationship with Helen.

Back in the hatch Locke investigates some strange noises coming from the speakers and finds himself locked in the main room with no hope of getting out. Both Locke and Henry attempt to open the blast doors by sticking a tool box under a small opening. Against Henry’s advice Locke tries to slide under, the toolbox gives out and Locke is pinned by the heavy door.

With minutes left before the buttons have to be pushed, Locke convinces Henry he must climb through the vents and reset the clock.

Henry Does not reach the computer in time and Locke gets to see a hidden map drawn on the back of the blast door. The drawing has a makeshift map of the locations of the hatch’s and some notes about the island. Henry then resets the clock and Locke is released from the blast door.

Charlie, Anna-lucia and Sayid discover Henry Gale’s balloon and that he may not be telling the whole truth. They meet up with Jack and Kate who have just discovered a shipment of food and supplies from the Dharma Initiative and tell them what they have found.

Just before the episode ends the group races back to the hatch to confront Henry.

Next up.. Episode 18 - Dave, a Hurley centric episode.

[…] Persephone isn’t the first reference to a greek myth. Earlier this season we saw the Swan’s blast door mention a cerberus system. The figure of Persephone is a well-known one today. Her story has great emotional power: an innocent maiden; a mother’s grief at the abduction and the return of her daughter. It is also cited frequently as a paradigm of myths that explain natural processes, with the descent and return of the goddess bringing about the change of seasons. […]
